Abstract
Highly regioselective anodic partial fluorination of various heterocycles s uch as thiolanones, oxathiolanones, dithiolanones, 3H-1,4-benzoxathian-2-on es, beta-lactams, oxindoles, tetrahydroisoquinolines, and flavones has been successfully carried out using Et3N . 3HF or Et4NF . mHF (m=3,4). Indirect anodic monofluorodesulfurization of beta-phenylthio-beta-lactams was also performed by using a catalytic amount of a triarylamine mediator. Furthermo re, the anodic monofluorination of the side chain of heterocycles also met with success.
