Dostoevskiy - looks into the precarious lo t of Russia's secondary school students under the present conditions. The p lace of money in their life values, ethical and moral orientations, value o f learning, and future plans are analyzed on the basis of the survey data c ollected (1997) among both school students and their teachers. Liberalized market economy is found to be accepted for the group in question, as well a s the principle of individual responsibility for one's own future, though t here are numerous negative trends threatening the sizable portions of Russi a's youth groups by de-socialization.
