Abstract
We describe here the synthesis of 2-(4-nitrobenzyloxycarbonyl)succinic acid 1-allyl ester 4-tert-butyl ester, and an easily attainable deprotection ro ute to the removal of each one of the ester Functionalities, to give compou nds useful as building blocks and formally equivalent to a carboxy analog o f aspartic acid.
