Abstract
Echinoclathrines A-C (3 - 5) have been isolated from an Okinawan sponge, Ec hinoclathria sp. and the structures elucidated by interpretation of spectra l data These compounds are a new class of pyridine alkaloids possessing an 4-aryl-2-methylpyridine moiety as a common structural element. Echinoclathr ines A and B exhibited weak immunosuppressive activity in a mixed lymphocyt e reaction assay. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
