Abstract
Spiral wave patterns in chemical reactions and their dynamics have received
a lot of interest in the past Sew years, from the experimental and from th
e theoretical side. We review some of the recent mathematical results addre
ssing a bifurcation theoretic approach to meandering and drifting tip motio
ns. Special emphasis is laid on the crucial role of euclidean symmetry.
