Abstract
The Canadian Association of General Surgeons, representing community a nd academic general surgeons throughout Canada, is concerned about the widespread effects of health care restructuring on clinical care, edu cation and research. The general surgeon remains one of the critical m embers of the health care team and should have an adequate voice in on going discussions regarding health care reform.
