Half-saturation constants (K-m), maximum uptake rates (V-max), and threshol
d concentrations for sulfate and hydrogen were determined for two thermophi
lic sulfate-reducing bacteria (SRB) in an incubation system without headspa
ce. K-m values determined for the thermophilic SRB were similar to the cons
tants described for mesophilic SRB isolated from environments with low sulf
ate concentrations.
