The injection of spin-polarized electrons is presently one of the major cha
llenges in semiconductor spin electronics. We propose and demonstrate a mos
t efficient spin injection using diluted magnetic semiconductors as spin al
igners. Time-resolved photoluminescence with a Cd 0.98 Mn 0.02 Te/CdTe stru
cture proves the feasibility of the spin-alignment mechanism. (C) 1999 Amer
