Polyolefins/lignosulfonates blends. II. Isotactic polypropylene/epoxy-modified lignin blends

Improvement in the compatibility of polypropylene with lignin by chemical m odification of lignin, use of glycidylmethacrylate-grafted-polypropylene as compatibilizing agent and partial crosslinking were achieved. Change in co mpatibility by incorporation of relatively high amounts of lignin and some additives was established by the following methods: DSC, scanning electron microscopy, contact angle measurements, X-ray diffraction, IR-spectroscopy and mechanical indices determination.
