Synthesis of titanium-oxygen layers was carried out on the surface of spher
ical monodisperse particles of silicon oxide 0.56 mu m in diameter. For the
initial particles and those modified with titanium oxide, the electrokinet
ic potential and adsorption of potential-determining ions were measured dep
ending on pH at the background of 1 : 1 electrolytes. It was established th
at the deposition of even the first layer of titanium oxide shifts in the i
soelectric point (IEP) to a value close to the IEP of the bulk oxide synthe
sized under similar conditions.
