Abstract
Some properties of the eigensolutions of two commuting non Hermitian operat ors are brought to the light and exploited to introduce a novel characteriz ation of a set of non classical states of a single bosonic mode. In this co ntext, the construction of possible generalizations of the even and odd coh erent states is developed in detail.
