Some remarks on scatter plots generation procedures for facility layout

Scatter plots of facilities on the plane are derived from a heuristic proce dure proposed by Drezner. Features of this approach have been investigated. It is shown that scatter plots generated by the 'eigenvectors method' coul d differ in quality. It is shown that this quality depends on the input dat a structure. By the comparison of eigenvector results with those obtained b y a special algorithm proposed in this work, general conditions are determi ned for rational applications of the Drezner approach.
