Abstract
Nonlinear-spectroscopy population effects due to spontaneous transfer of op tical coherence are examined. The existence in the velocity distribution of new resonance elements of a specific form is established. The occurrence o f these effects in the nonlinear resonance of a counterpropagating wave is analyzed. (C) 1999 American Institute of Physics. [S1063-7761(99)00201-2].
