Gt. Kazakov et al., The effect of parametrically excited spin waves on the dispersion and damping of magnetostatic surface waves in ferrite films, J EXP TH PH, 88(1), 1999, pp. 174-181
This paper describes an experimental study of variations of the dispersion
and damping of magnetostatic surface waves in ferrite films, caused by thre
e- and four-magnon interactions with parametric spin waves excited by an au
xiliary surface magnetostatic pump wave with frequency f(p). The variations
in the dispersion and damping were identified, respectively, with variatio
ns Delta k ' in the real part and Delta k " in the imaginary part of the wa
ve number of the surface magnetostatic wave. The Delta k ' and Delta k ' va
lues were determined from the ratio of the changes of the phase increment D
elta phi and the amplitude increment Delta A of the surface magnetostatic w
ave to the length L of the nonequilibrium section of the film, where the pa
rametric spin waves exist. It is found that, when three-magnon decay proces
ses are allowed for the pump wave and the surface magnetostatic probe wave,
the probe wave can substantially alter the distribution of the parametric
spin waves in the film. (C) 1999 American Institute of Physics. [S1063-7761
