Abstract
Prosthetic rehabilitation of a total glossectomized patient and specificati ons of the appliance, which differs from those previously reported, are pre sented. The functional considerations and logic used to design such a devic e are described. Speech performance of the patient with and without the pro sthesis, is compared with a perceptibility test. Improvement of the functio ns of mastication, swallowing and speech were found acceptable.
