PMR SPECTROMETRIC ASSAY OF METHOXAMINE HCL IN BULK DRUGS AND PHARMACEUTICAL FORMULATIONS

A simple, accurate and rapid PMR method for the determination of metho xamine HCl has been developed. The relative standard deviations or coe fficient of variation CV are +/- 1.22% and 1.42% for the pure drug and injections, respectively. The results for authentic sample and inject ions are comparable to those obtained using the official B.P. 1988 met hod where relative standard deviation is 0.85%. There was no evidence of interference from the excipients. In addition, the PMR spectrum fur nishes a specific mean of identification of methoxamine.
