Abstract
A simple and simultaneous determination of residual phosphorus-containing a mino acid herbicides such as bilanafos (BIA), glufosinate (GLU) and glyphos ate (GLY) in agricultural products by HPLC with fluorescence detection was developed. The herbicides were extracted from agricultural products with wa ter. The crude extract was cleaned up on Sep-Pak PS-2 Plus and Bakerbond sp e (Sulfonic acid) cartridges, then derivatized with the fluorogenic labelin g reagent, 9-fluorenylmethyl chloroformate. The herbicides were detected by measuring the fluorescence at lambda(ex) 255 nm and lambda(em) 310 nm. The recoveries of 3 herbicides spiked at 2.0 mu g/g in agricultural products w ere within the range of 69.7 similar to 126.8%. The detection limits were 0 .02 similar to 0.04 mu g/g.
