The results of the experimental study of Nd3+ : YAG lasers with frustrated
total internal reflection (FTIR) Q-switches are presented. The possibility
of different types of the laser cavities to generate different shapes of la
ser pulses was investigated, Special attention was paid to the lasing with
long (up to microsecond range) pulses. Computer simulation of the Lasing pr
ocesses was done, and they demonstrated good agreement with the experiment.
