Abstract
We report the development of cw 1.06-mu m waveguide lasers made of Nd :YAG single-crystal fibers optically end-pumped either by a single laser diode o r by a pigtailed diode stack. High output efficiency, low threshold and 60- 100 mW output powers are reported. Graded refraction index and dopant conce ntration are also discussed.
