Due to the dependence of the refractive index on the temperature and the in
version of an active medium in an end-pumped solid-state laser, a local ref
ractive index profile is induced at the position of pumping. The overlap of
this refractive index profile with the transverse modes is different for e
ach mode index; thus, the transverse structure and the Frequencies of the m
odes are changed in a different manner. In the present paper a method is in
troduced for obtaining the mode structure and the frequencies of transverse
modes in existence of a local refractive index profile.
