Inertial oscillations are calculated numerically using the equations o
f the hydrodynamics of incompressible heavy fluid which are linearized
with respect to a tidal current with a meridional shear (the currents
are the solutions of the tidal Laplace equations). The parameter doma
ins, where two main tidal components become unstable, are obtained. In
a particular case, the model system is reduced to the Mathieu equatio
n, and the parameters (latitude and a modulation parameter proportiona
l to the amplitude of the tidal flow) of a parametric resonance betwee
n the inertial and the basic tidal currents are determined.
