Abstract
Fast, accurate, and simple closed-form expressions are presented for calcul ating the quasistatic TEM parameters of elliptical coplanar waveguides. The effect of the elliptical curvature of the present CPW structure on the lin e parameters is investigated by using the formulas derived by conformal map ping techniques. It has been shown that both the eccentricity and the param eter p = a(2) - a(1) lead to a significant change of the quasi-TEM paramete rs. Comparisons are also made between the present results and the results a vailable in the literature for both cylindrical and planar CPWs. (C) 1999 J ohn Wiley & Sons, Inc.
