Abstract
We present a linear method for the estimation of the occurrence time of eve
nts, based on a FIR digital filter running on a fixed point digital signal
processor. With respect to least mean squares (LMS) methods, our approach a
llows a much higher event rate ( > 100 k events/s, i.e, ten times better th
an LMS) at the expenses of a somewhat worse time resolution (roughly two ti
