Fusion cross-sections around the barrier in Be-11.9+Bi-209

The Be-9,Be-11 + Bi-209 subbarrier fusion cross-sections were measured. The good quality of the Be-9 data allowed also to extract the fusion barrier d istribution. The data are in good agreement with the theoretical prediction s above the barrier but not below, where the cross-sections are similar, in contradiction with present theories. The barrier distribution for Be-9 doe s not evidence fusion processes originating from breakup.
