Abstract
We present a method for obtaining a simple relation between bulk and cavity -modified Raman gains for microcavities with arbitrary geometric shapes. Th e analytical expression for the microcavity-enhanced Raman gain quantitativ ely accounts quite well for all the main features of the related experiment s. (C) 1999 Optical Society of America.
