Abstract
The P-odd circular polarizations for E = 74.5 and 25.6 keV El gamma transit ions in a heavily deformed Dy-161 nucleus have been measured for the first time by means of Compton polarimetry. The results are P-c = -(7.0 +/- 1.5) x 10(-5) and -(3.8 +/- 0.8) x 10(-3), respectively. For the latter transiti on, the matrix element of weak NN interaction has been estimated at [v] = 0 .60 +/- 0.13 eV, which is about seven times greater than that for the simil ar E = 59.6 keV transition in Np-237.
