Abstract
The problem of the stability of the periodic motion of a non-linear periodi c Hamiltonian system is considered in the case of pure imaginary characteri stic exponents which also satisfy several fourth-order resonance conditions . Conditions for stability and instability are formulated based on terms of the third order inclusive. Some conclusions generalize results obtained pr eviously [1]. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science Ltd.
