K. Strickertsson et As. Murray, Optically stimulated luminescence dates for Late Pleistocene and Holocene sediments from Norre Lyngby, Northern Jutland, Denmark, QUAT SCI R, 18(2), 1999, pp. 169-178
Quartz from late Pleistocene marine and freshwater deposits of known C-14 a
ge, and from a historically dated aeolian deposit, has been studied using m
ultiple-aliquot and single-aliquot protocols. Comparisons are presented bet
ween equivalent doses derived using a multiple-aliquot additive-dose thermo
luminescence approach, and three OSL protocols-Single aliquot regeneration
and added dose (SARA, Mejdahl and Botter-Jensen, 1994), single-aliquot addi
tive-dose (Murray et nl., 1997) and single-aliquot regenerative-dose (Murra
y and Roberts, 1998). Dose rates, determined by laboratory gamma spectromet
ry, are compared with both field gamma scintillation measurements, and labo
ratory beta thermoluminescence dosimetry measurements. The agreement is sat
isfactory. The resulting dates are discussed in terms of absolute chronolog
y and bleaching environment. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights rese
