Abstract
New types of composite pervaporation membranes, involving microporous suppo rt based on commercial ultrafilter prepared from aromatic polyamide and coa ting diffusion layer of various thickness prepared from a series of silicon -containing polymers, were obtained. The transport properties of the result ing membranes during concentration of ethanol or isopropanol from their aqu eous solutions were analyzed basing on the Henis-Tripodi resistance model. The possibility of using these membranes for concentration of ethanol from fermentation products was studied.
