Abstract
The syntheses of alpha,alpha,alpha-chlorodifluorotoluene and alpha,alpha,al pha-bromodifluorotoluene from alpha,alpha-difluorotoluene and N-chlorosucci nimide and N-bromosuccinimide, respectively, were achieved photochemically using sunlight and/or sunlamp irradiation. These methods gave high product yields and very little by-product formation.
