Abstract
Today, hydrogen peroxide is used in virtually all ECF and TCF bleaching seq
uences. Therefore, a lower-cost peroxide source can result in significant s
avings in a mill's bleaching chemical expenditure. This paper describes an
on-site hydrogen peroxide process capable of supplying typical mills with a
t least 15%-lower-cost peroxide. The paper shows how the on-site product ca
n be applied to lower the chemical cost for making ECF pulps.
