Abstract
Cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) evaluation can yield important information in beh avioral, pharmacologic, and toxic assessment of the nervous system. Recentl y identified neurotransmitters are available and quantifiable in CSF: CSF c ollection in macaques is easy to perform and extremely safe for the monkeys . This paper outlines a simple, harmless, and reliable method to collect CS F from the atlanto-occipital cistern of macaques.
