Abstract
The title compound (C11H10N2O) was isolated, together with other indole der
ivatives, from the acetone extract of the red algae Chondria atropurpurea.
The acrylamide group deviates only slightly from the overall planarity of t
he entire molecule. The packing is stabilized by an intermolecular interact
ion between an amide H atom and the indole ring.
