Abstract
The compounds 7-oxa-2[lambda](6)-thia-1,5-diazabicyclo[3.3.1]nonane-2, 2-di one (C5H10N2O3S) and 7-{[2-(2,2-dioxo-2[lambda](6)-thia-1,5,7-triazabicyclo [3.3.1]-non-7-yl)ethyl]sulfonyl)-2[lambda](6)-thia-1,5,7-triazabicyclo nona ne-2,2-dione (C12H24N6O6S3) are produced when taurolidine is reacted with a n excess of methylene glycol. The saturated six-membered heterocyclic rings in both compounds adopt distorted chair conformations.
