Abstract
The aim of the study was to explore the relationships between alexithymia a nd interpersonal dependency in healthy, subjects. 144 university students f illed out the Twenty-items Toronto Alexithymia Scale (TAS-20), the Interper sonal Dependency Inventory (IDI) and the abridged form of the Beck Depressi on Inventory (BDI). The Pearson correlation coefficient was significant bet ween the Emotion factor of the TAS-20 and the Lack of social self confidenc e sub-scale of the IDI. Moreover the corresponding partial correlation usin g the BDI score as constant remained significant. Alexithymia and dependenc y was positively linked in healthy subjects.
