Abstract
The fullerenated polymethylphenylsilane (C-60-PMPS) was synthesized by two methods. Either PMPS was synthesized via Wurtz type reduced coupling reacti on firstly and then C-60-PMPS was synthesized by Friedel-Crafts type reacti on; or C-60-PMPS was obtained by direct copolymerization of dichloromethylp henylsilane and C-60, The structure of each type of C-60-PMPS was character ized by a series of methods such as UV-Vis, GPC and IR, The results show th at C60 bonds with the pendant benzene ring of PMPS in Friedel-Crafts type C -60-PMPS while C60 may incorporate into the main chain in the case of copol ymerized C-60-PMPS, The photoconductivity measurements show that the copoly merized C-60-PMPS has a good photoconductivity in contrast with pure PMPS a nd Friedel-Crafts C-60-PMPS which have hardly any photoconductivities.
