A centralized/distributed model for information technology resources

This paper presents a model resulting from an effort to restructure informa tion technology (IT) resources conducted at the Institute of Food and Agric ultural Sciences at the University of Florida (UF/IFAS). The purpose was to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of resources as the institutional clients move towards an information based society. The paper presents a di stributed/centralized paradigm and its implementation at UF/IFAS.
