Abstract
The use of properly designed housing can reduce the poultry production loss es due to hot climate conditions that occurs mainly during the Summer month s in hot weather conditions. Ventilation rate is an important factor to red uce the thermal load within poultry housing and it can be provided by eithe r natural or mechanical means, or the association of both ways. It is neces sary to invest in forced ventilation solutions when environmental temperatu res reach high levels as well as misting system. The objective of this rese arch was to determine the ideal ventilation system using the software VENT and compare the simulated results with data collected in two poultry houses , one in a tunnel system and the other with pad cooling.
