One of the criterions for labelling of genetically modified foods to the No
vel Food legislation is the presence of transgenic DNA. Therefor analysis i
s mostly based on the detection of the transgenic DNA. No labelling is requ
ired for unavoidable residues below a limiting level. Appropriate methods f
or the quantification of such residues are therefor necessary. This paper d
escribes a competitive PCR method for the quantification of the genetically
modified soy beans.
