Abstract
The authors propose a consistent and bias corrected extension of Akaike's i
nformation criterion (AIC), AIC(bc). Empirical performances of the AIC(bc)
are studied. The AIC(bc) was found to result in relatively better model ord
er choices of a linear regression model using a Monte Carlo experiment.
