Photonic tunable microwave filters employing electroabsorption modulators and wideband chirped fibre gratings

A novel fibre-optic tunable microwave filter employing electroabsorption mo dulators and wideband chirped fibre gratings is proposed and demonstrated. It is shown that the tunability and bandwidth adjustment are readily achiev ed by varying the frequency of the modulator driving signal and the bias vo ltage, respectively.
