To accomplish a reduction in size as well as to obtain a good performance c
ompared with the conventional half-wavelength coplanar waveguide (CPW) reso
nator, novel CPW structures are presented and investigated. The presented C
PWs provide a similar to 70% reduction in the resonance frequency as well a
s a 20% increase in the Q factor over conventional CPW resonators. Moreover
, good agreement between theoretical and experimental resonance frequencies
has been confirmed.
