Abstract
A set of optically active 2-chloromethyl-2-oxazolines was synthesized by co ndensation of optically active 2-amino alcohols with triethyl orthochloroac etate which was prepared conveniently from triethyl orthoacetate by chlorin ation using tert-butyl hypochlorite.
