Voltage distribution along a semiconducting glaze insulator string was calc
ulated based an an equivalent circuit. The impedance effect of the insulato
r unit on voltage and temperature distributions along the insulator string
were also examined by calculation. The calculated results agreed well with
experimental ones obtained in a laboratory test, showing that the equivalen
t circuit and the program used are effective for the analysis of electrical
/thermal performance of the semiconducting glaze insulator strings.
