Pb0.88Ba0.08Sr0.04TixZr1-xO3 (0.2 less than or equal to x less than or equa
l to 0.55) ceramics were prepared, and their pyroelectric and dielectric pr
operties were studied as a function of temperature and composition. The mat
erial with x = 0.34 (gamma(p) = 7 x 10(-4) C/(m(2) K), epsilon(33)(T)/epsil
on(0) = 300, tan delta = 0.01, P-r = 6.5 mu C/cm(2), E-c = 2.8 kV/cm) was f
ound to be optimal for pyroelectric applications.
