Calculations indicate that ion-molecule reactions in gases exhibit marked k
inetic isotope effects. Whereas at high temperatures the effects are normal
(the lighter molecule reacts faster than the heavier one), at low temperat
ures the reversed isotope effect is predicted: a heavier isotopomeric molec
