Abstract
Starting with 15,16-dihydro-11-methoxycyclopenta[a]phenanthren-17-one, the isomeric 15- and 16-keto analogues have been synthesised along with all thr ee isomeric secondary alcohols, the trans-16,17-diol and a number of other derivatives, some of which are metabolites of the title compound.
