Abstract
A reexamination of the published activity coefficients of AI(CIO,), in aque ous solutions (E. Kalman, G. Horn, K. Schwabe, Z. Phys. Chem. (Leipzig), 24 4 (1970) 106) is given. A procedure for the estimation of activity coeffici ents of electrolytes is proposed. The method combines experimental osmotic coefficients and a theory based on the primitive model. This strategy provi des suitable results, especially for asymmetrical electrolytes. (C) 1999 El sevier Science S.A. All rights reserved.
