Abstract
Co-Pd alloy films with perpendicular anisotropy were produced by pulsed las
er deposition. The polar and transversal Kerr spectra in these films have b
een studied in the range 0.5-4.5 eV. The spectrum regions with maximal magn
itude of the effect have been determined. The films investigated can be con
sidered suitable for perpendicular magnetic recording applications. (C) 199
