Abstract
Inversion techniques generally try to minimise the distance between modelle d and real data. This scheme implicitly implies that the quality of the rea l data is of a prime importance to get valuable inversion results. This pap er shows how better velocity models (leading to better migrated images) are provided by a 3-D tomographic inversion tool when we use multi-arrivals in stead of conventional mono-arrivals travel times.
